Help!! Dial-up is killing me!?

Ok, I live in a rural area. The only thing we can get is DIRECTV and Hughes Net, but they are way to expensive for me. Verizon owns the phone lines, and all the cable companies (including them) say that DSL and regular cable are unavailable for my area. I need a broadband connection real bad.. It takes a million years to download pages with dial-up, and I feel like I wanna punch a hole through my screen sometimes. What can I do?
